Advertising by the NRA

The NRA ad depicts a man being attacked by a baseball-bat wielding criminal. Note that the victim is not in his home. Does the NRA now advocate people carrying guns with them on the streets in order to protect themselves?
Not only is this illegal, it’s idiotic.
The ad copy further states, “You bear the ultimate responsibility for your own protection.” That statement is followed by a series of additional catch phrases about gun “ownership.” What the ad obviously advocates is not just ownership but the carrying of guns by an armed population.
As usual the NRA is way out of line.
