Two Men Linked to Wilson Drug Case Cleared

Two Encanto men arrested in connection with alleged drug dealing by former San Diego Charger defensive end Earl Wilson are no longer suspects in the case, police said.
Michael Miller, 25, and Mark Cook, 21, were released Wednesday, according to Lt. Louis Scanlon, a police spokesman. They are residents of a house where police suspected that Wilson was obtaining rock cocaine.
A third man arrested Tuesday at the house, Mercier Gurgnard, 20, still faces a charge of possessing a controlled substance for sale, Scanlon said.
Wilson, 29, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of furnishing rock cocaine to an undercover police officer. He was freed early Wednesday on $5,000 bail.
The Chargers waived Wilson, a three-year veteran, after Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He had been released before his arrest.
