Local News in Brief : Sex Convictions Net Chiropractor 2 Years

A chiropractor convicted of sexually molesting three female patients on a treatment table in his Canoga Park office was sentenced to two years in prison Thursday.
A Van Nuys Superior Court jury found Ronald Burton Schain, 52, guilty July 17 of three felony counts of sexual battery. He was found not guilty of raping one victim and also was acquitted of molesting a fourth woman.
Judge David Perez gave Schain the prison term despite an argument by Schain’s attorney that his client was not dangerous and simply needs mental counseling. Schain will be eligible for parole in one year.
Schain has denied he did anything improper with the women. Whatever physical contact he had with the women was part of a legitimate massage technique to drain the lymph glands, he contended during the trial.
