Two workers from Turlock were trapped beneath a pile of rubble when three walls at a construction site gave way and came tumbling down. “It was sort of slow motion. The walls started coming down and falling like dominoes,” said Pat Maxwell of Merced, who witnessed the accident. Phillip Morris, 35, and Darryl Jolison, 27, were hospitalized with major injuries. Atwater police spokesman Jerry Moore said the accident occurred when the workmen were trying to move a scaffolding from one wall to another in a building being built in an industrial park at the Merced County community’s airport.
