Dain Breaks 2 Records in Slow-Pitch Softball

WATERLOO, Iowa — Ken Dain of Long Beach hit a record eight home runs Friday night as Steele’s Sports from Grafton, Ohio, totaled a record 53 home runs to defeat Capitol of Los Angeles, 84-22, in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Slo-Pitch softball world series.
In all, Dain had nine hits in as many at-bats, another record. The record was five homers, by five players, and seven hits, by three players.
Old team records were 46 runs in a game and 31 home runs in a game, both by Elite of Gordon, Ga.
