Orange County Community College Roundup : Douglas Leads Golden West to Wins

Craig Douglas scored 12 goals to lead Golden West College to two early-round victories in the Cuesta water polo tournament Friday at Cuesta College.
Douglas, a sophomore forward, had eight goals in the Rustlers’ 13-8 first-round victory over Diablo. He had four goals in a 21-6 second-round victory over Ventura.
Sophomore Scott Larsen also scored four goals against Ventura.
The Rustlers will play Saddleback in a semifinal match today at 10:30 a.m.
In Golden West men’s soccer cup play:
Orange Coast 3, Santa Monica 2--John Bovetas scored two goals, including the game-winner with five minutes left for OCC. Hamd Sedehi also scored for OCC (1-1-1).
Golden West 5, Santa Rosa 0--Kurt Lundberg scored two goals for Golden West, which plays OCC at 7:45 tonight in the championship.
In women’s nonconference soccer:
Orange Coast 2, Santa Rosa 0--Renee Barteski and Pam Lewin scored goals and Debbie Bontrager had seven saves for OCC (2-0).
In women’s nonconference volleyball:
Golden West 3, Orange Coast 0--Kim Gray had six kills as Golden West won, 15-3, 15-11, 15-13, at OCC.
