SAN DIEGO — The University of San Diego, looking for its first victory of the season, will play at the University of Redlands at 7:30 tonight in a nonconference NCAA Division III football game.
USD tied Occidental College, 13-13, in its season opener last week. The Toreros, using a new option running attack, led until Occidental tied the score with a field goal on the final play.
Redlands, which won only one game a year ago, is playing its season opener tonight. USD defeated Redlands last year, 21-3.
“Our physical effort in the game (against Occidental) was outstanding,” USD Coach Brian Fogarty said. “It was the best I’ve seen in a long time.
“We’ll need the same kind of effort against Redlands. Since they didn’t play last week, we don’t know exactly what they have. We know they’ll be better this year.”
