ANGEL’S BACK
When first seen in 1985, the streetwise “Angel” (from New World) was an honor student by day, a hooker by night (the cheapie grossed more than $14 million). In her next outing, “Avenging Angel,” she wore a mean miniskirt, packed a lotta lead and mowed down the sleazoid who murdered the cop who’d saved her from the streets. (This experience generated some $6 million.)
Now, Molly Stewart--a.k.a. Angel--returns as a grown-up photo-journalist in NYC who goes back into the underworld looking for the runaway kid sister she never knew she had.
Tom De Simone (“Reform School Girls”) is writing and will direct by year’s end for exec producer Sandy Howard.
No title yet, as well as no casting of the feisty heroine (Donna Wilkes was Angel I, Betsy Russell was II). “Have any idea what Jane Fonda’s up to?” quipped a New World rep.
