A safe containing $1,000 worth of rosary beads, Bibles, religious medals and $160 in cash was stolen from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on West La Habra Boulevard, police Sgt. Phil Stufflebean reported.
A custodian arrived at work Saturday morning and discovered a door to the church’s storage area unlocked. Inside, cabinets were forced open and a safe that had been affixed to the concrete floor had been chipped out of the concrete and removed, Stufflebean said.
Stufflebean said there were no suspects. The burglary apparently occurred sometime between Friday evening and 8 a.m. Saturday.
