A 43-year-old Fountain Valley man was killed near Ensenada, Mexico, on Saturday after he was thrown from his motorcycle, the San Diego County coroner’s office said.
Deputy Coroner David Lodge identified the victim as Gerald Hanson.
Lodge said few details about the accident were known but that apparently Hanson was participating in an annual motorcycle race between Ensenada and San Felipe and lost control of his motorcycle.
He was given emergency first aid at the scene by medical technicians and then taken by ambulance to Scripps Memorial Hospital in Chula Vista, south of San Diego, where he was pronounced dead.
