HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS : Devine, Scobie, Nesbitt Win Cross-Country Titles

Joe Devine and Heather Scobie of Saugus won the division II individual titles and Amy Nesbitt of Newbury Park won the division I girls title at the Sonora cross-country invitational at Craig Park in Fullerton on Saturday.
Devine (14 minutes, 56 seconds) and Canyon’s Mike Rattary (15:10) placed 1-2 in the division II race. Antelope Valley defeated Canyon, 37-53, for the team title.
Saugus won the division II girls title behind Scobie’s 18:06 victory.
MEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY
Fresno Pacific 38, Cal Lutheran 83, UC San Diego 83, Master’s 102--Jeff Classen placed second to lead The Master’s to a fourth-place finish at the Chapman invitational at Santiago Oaks Park. Classen ran 23:01 for the four-mile course.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Chaminade def. Agoura, 15-9, 16-14--All-Tournament selections Anna Suarez, Kim Casilia and Alisa Levinson led Chaminade to victory in the championship match of the Calabasas tournament.
WATER POLO
Harvard 12, Santa Barbara 11--Jed Simon’s goal with 49 seconds left gave Harvard a second-round win in the Millikan tournament at Wilson High in Long Beach. Damon Willick scored three goals for Harvard (5-2), which lost to Cabrillo, 6-5, in the consolation championship.
