World Affairs Council Names Medawar as Interim President

The Los Angeles World Affairs Council has appointed Adrienne Medawar as interim president, to serve while president Edmonde Haddad is on leave of absence in Washington as deputy assistant secretary of state for public diplomacy.
The 8,000-member nonprofit organization provides a nonpartisan forum for international affairs and U.S. foreign policy.
Medawar, a native of Los Angeles, is a member of the Foreign Press Assn. and an officer and director of the National Council for International Visitors. A resident of Bel-Air, she has been active in the World Affairs Council for 15 years.
