Don Johnson will receive the first Buddy Award on Oct. 24 at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, where he was a theater student in the 1960s. The award--from the school’s division of communication and theater--honors Olathe, Kan., native Charles (Buddy) Rogers, a film star of the 1920s and 1930s. Rogers will present the award to the “Miami Vice” star during a ceremony that will feature videos and films starring the two actors.
