Glasnost is coming to Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood. Fred Rogers, host of the long-running children’s program, will participate in the first Soviet-U. S. exchange of children’s programming, it was announced. The deal calls for Rogers to guest star this fall on “Spokoinoi Nochi, Malyshi,” (“Good Night, Kiddies”), the popular Soviet program in which Styopa the rabbit and Khryusha the piglet have visited Soviet homes every night for 23 years. Rogers’ Soviet counterpart, Tatyana Vedeneyeva, will be featured in Rogers’ show in March.
