Alaska Airlines will begin flying between Burbank and San Jose. The fast-growing regional airline said it will offer three round-trip, non-stop flights daily beginning Oct. 25. The airline’s move was announced just three days after American Airlines reported that it will drop its jet service between Burbank and the Bay Area and let its prop-plane commuter airline, American Eagle, handle those routes. Alaska Airlines acknowledged that its move was a direct response to American’s action.
