TIMBERLINE LODGE, Ore. — The U.S. Postal Service will help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Timberline Lodge on Monday by issuing a post card featuring an image of the historic building on Mt. Hood, officials said.
It will be 50 years ago Monday that President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated the massive stone and wood lodge 52 miles east of Portland.
The lodge, built by the Works Progress Administration during the Depression, is a national historic landmark known for its handmade ironwork, wood carvings and other artwork.
