Gorbachev Book Due Nov. 20

NEW YORK — Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev has written a book that will be published simultaneously in the United States and the Soviet Union in order “to speak directly” to people throughout the world, Harper and Row said today.

The publishing firm said the book, “Perestroika: Our Hopes for Our Country and the World,” will go on sale Nov. 20. Perestroika is the Russian word for restructuring.
