PHILADELPHIA — Todd McNair rushed for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns Thursday night, and Temple is off to its best start since its 10-2 season of 1979 as a result of its 23-3 victory over Akron.
McNair, a junior tailback, carried the ball 32 times in recording his third game of at least 100 yards this season. Last week, he had 41 carries, three shy of the school record, in Temple’s 24-21 upset of Pittsburgh.
The win raised Temple’s record to 3-1. Akron fell to 1-3.
