Tustin Runners Upset Newport Harbor Girls

The Tustin High School girls’ cross-country team upset Newport Harbor, 28-29, Thursday in a Sea View League double-dual meet to stop the Sailors’ 35-meet win streak that lasted 4 1/2 years.
Tustin’s top four runners all set personal bests in the meet at Mason Park in Irvine.
Sophomore Erin Cunningham (18 minutes 55 seconds) finished second on the three-mile course, Olivia Fields (19:22) was third, Wendy Bassett (19:36) fourth and Jody Bassett (19:57) seventh for Tustin.
Kim Robinson of Newport Harbor won the race in 18:35.
