Corona del Mar Sets Cross-Country Mark

Three members of the Corona del Mar High School boys’ cross-country team set a course record Thursday as the Sea Kings won a double-dual meet over Estancia and Saddleback at Estancia.
Junior Eddie Lavelle, senior Jim Robbins and junior Greg Shryock covered the three-mile course in 16 minutes 3 seconds, beating the course record by three seconds.
Corona del Mar defeated Estancia, 15-50, and Saddleback, 16-46. Saddleback defeated Estancia, 18-39.
