Ferraro Family Trials

Re Profile on Geraldine Ferraro (“Ferraro and the Family Trials,” by Elizabeth Mehren, Sept. 21):
As a mother, career woman and former wife, I completely empathize with Ferraro’s present situation. I am fed up with the political hypocrisy we live with today. Why is this perfectly good candidate for President not even in the race?
Ferraro seems to have a life that is what I have to believe is “normal,” because it certainly resembles my own. I would take much comfort in knowing that my political leaders have grown through the same kinds of problems in life that I have.
As a career woman who has experience as a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, niece and cousin, I think the nurturing capacity of a woman like Ferraro would be good for all that ails this country.
