ORANGE COUNTY PREP FOOTBALL : Ocean View Punishes Santa Ana Valley, 31-0

Ocean View High School scored 21 points in the second quarter and coasted to a 31-0 nonleague victory over Santa Ana Valley Friday night in Santa Ana Stadium.
The Seahawks (2-1) held the Falcons to minus-five yards rushing and 65 yards total offense. Santa Ana Valley (1-2) had minus-two net yards in the first half. Defensive back Kevin Mullens intercepted three passes for Ocean View.
Quarterback Vic Gutierrez led a balanced Seahawk offense. He completed 9 of 16 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown and carried eight times for 71 yards and a score. Ocean View added 157 yards on the ground for 265 yards total offense.
After Matt Bertram gave the Seahawks a 3-0 lead in the first quarter with a 42-yard field goal, Ocean View broke the game open in the second quarter. Halfback David Keiser scored on a 16-yard run with 11:25 left in the half, and from six yards out with 7:21 remaining. Gutierrez made it 24-0 with a 20-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Tommy Wind.
The only score in the second half came on a 30-yard run by Gutierrez with 3:30 left in the third quarter.
Santa Ana Valley quarterback Steve Calhoun completed 7 of 19 passes for 70 yards. Wide receiver Roshawn Lacy caught three passes for 28 yards.
