Semipro Team Feels Pinch From NFL

The California Wolves of the semipro High Desert Football League have lost two starting defensive players to the NFL and Coach John Bowker expects at least two more players to leave the team.
Linebacker Mark Korff signed with the San Francisco 49ers and cornerback Gerald Daniels signed with the Rams, Bowker said. Korff, who was the High Desert League’s defensive player of the year, played at Kennedy High and Valley College.
NFL teams are signing non-union athletes to play in games Oct. 4 in the event the current labor dispute has not been resolved.
