FALL HIGHLIGHTS : Perez Finishes 2nd to Pace Moorpark

Ramon Perez’s second-place finish led Moorpark College to victory over Santa Barbara and Oxnard in its first Western State Conference cross-country meet Friday.

Perez clocked 21 minutes, 3 seconds over the three-mile course. Oxnard’s Henry Mortin was the top finisher in 20:57.

Moorpark beat Santa Barbara, 22-35, and Oxnard, 23-37.

John Rogers of Moorpark finished fourth in 21:25 and teammate Todd Lytle placed sixth in 21:29.

Moorpark’s women picked up two wins by forfeit because neither Santa Barbara nor Oxnard had five runners for the meet.
