New Chairman Picked for Irvine City S

William A. Giraldin III, a long-time savings and loan executive, has been named chairman of Irvine City Savings & Loan Assn. He replaces Rene Laursen of Newport Beach, a co-founder of the S&L; who resigned from the board to devote more time to his photography processing business.
Giraldin, 71, of Irvine, has been president of Mission Savings & Loan in Santa Ana and U.S. Life Savings & Loan in Los Angeles, both of which were merged into other institutions.
