A hearing to exempt a list of chemicals from disclosure requirements for hazardous materials will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 15 in the Fullerton Main Library, Meeting Room B.
The Fire Department has proposed that the following chemicals be exempted:
Inert gases less than 1,100 cubic feet in their gaseous state.
Carbon dioxide in quantities less than 1,100 cubic feet.
Nitrogen or compressed air in a gaseous state less than 1,100 cubic feet.
Mixtures used in fire extinguishers, such as carbon dioxide, Halon 1211, Halon 1301 and a substance simply known as dry chemical.
Those chemicals do not pose “a danger to the environment or to human health and safety if the hazardous substance was released into the environment,” Fire Chief Ronald Coleman said.
