San Clemente : 1 Freeway Crash Victim Improves; 7 Unchanged

The condition of Elisabet Bolenberg, one of the 23 people injured Thursday when a truck driver rammed a van and caused a pileup near San Clemente, was upgraded Saturday from fair to good, a spokeswoman for Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego said.
The condition of seven other injured people was unchanged, and they remained hospitalized Saturday, according to spokeswomen for the four hospitals in Orange and San Diego counties where they were being treated. The seven remained in fair to serious condition, said spokeswomen for Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, Tri-City Hospital in Oceanside and San Clemente General Hospital.
