Condition of I-5 Crash Victim Upgraded

The condition of Elizabeth Bolenberg, one of the 23 people injured Thursday when a truck driver rammed a van and caused a pileup on Interstate 5 south of San Clemente, was upgraded Saturday from fair to good, according to a spokeswoman for Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
Two people in the van were killed. A third person injured in the accident died after suffering a heart attack at a hospital.
The conditions of seven other injured people who remained hospitalized Saturday was unchanged, according to spokeswomen for the four different hospitals in Orange and San Diego counties where they were being treated. The seven victims remained in fair to serious condition.
