Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn, who had been hospitalized since Sept. 18 after suffering a post-stroke seizure, was released from Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital and is expected to return to work late this week, his spokesman said. Hahn, 67, remained hospitalized several days longer than expected because his doctors decided additional time was needed to adjust anti-seizure medication, said press aide Dan Wolf. The supervisor suffered no physical disabilities as a result of the seizure and is “back to normal and happy to be home,” Wolf said. Hospital officials said that 20% of all stroke victims suffer such post-stroke seizures. Last January Hahn suffered a stroke and was hospitalized for three months and then returned home for out-patient therapy for several additional months. He resumed attending board meetings in August.
