Bush Rehires Former Aide as Communications Chief

WASHINGTON — Vice President George Bush has rehired his former press secretary, Peter Teeley, as director of communications for both his official office and his 1988 presidential campaign, officials said.
Teeley, 47, who was Bush’s chief spokesman from 1979 to March, 1985, has been in private consulting for two years. Bush has been without a press secretary since Larry Thomas resigned for personal reasons in June.
