Freeway Route Homes Readied

About 1,090 of the more than 1,500 apartment and condominium units in the Century Freeway housing program will be completed this week, according to to the project’s property manager, Long Beach-based Corporate Property Management Inc.
The entire project is expected to be completed within three years.
The $300-million program began in 1979 to rebuild housing moved from the path of the Century Freeway.
The 35 condo and apartment complexes and about 200 single-family houses are located along the freeway corridor in Inglewood, Gardena, Pico Rivera and Whittier.
