The World : Pro-Iranians Warn Tunisia

Islamic Jihad, a pro-Iranian group holding Western hostages in Lebanon, said it will start killing Tunisian government officials if that nation carries out death sentences on seven Muslim fundamentalists. “The price for the execution of our struggling brothers will be the heads of big officials in the oppressing Tunisian regime,” the group said in a statement in Beirut. The statement was accompanied by a picture of journalist Terry A. Anderson, one of eight Americans held hostage in Lebanon. Anderson, who was seized in March, 1985, appeared haggard in the black-and-white photograph. A Tunisian court condemned the seven fundamentalists to death for trying to overthrow the Tunis government.
