Dana Point : Aid Asked in Identifying Body Found in Surf
- Share via
Police are seeking help to identify the body of a woman found floating in the surf north of Dana Point early Monday.
The dead woman was spotted by a jogger at Salt Creek Beach who called police shortly before 7 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said. The woman was described as 45-55 years old, 5 feet, 2 inches, blue eyes, reddish-brown hair and 150 pounds.
The woman had four missing toes on her right foot--apparently from surgical amputation. “We’re hoping someone will recognize that detail and help us identify her,” Olson said.
Her body appeared to have been in the water for less than six hours, Olson said. There were no apparent signs of a beating or cuts.
