Arrest warrants have been issued for two Los Angeles police officers who allegedly assaulted two Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies at a Phoenix restaurant last April.
Deputy Maricopa County Atty. Hugo Zetler said he issued the warrants for officers Ty Richmond and Hank Cousine after the Los Angeles Police Department refused to cooperate during a lengthy investigation of an April 3 incident. The two men allegedly assaulted deputies during a scuffle the night before Los Angeles police and the Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies were to play in a charity football game.
Los Angeles Police Lt. Dan Cooke said Monday that the department’s Internal Affairs Division was conducting its own investigation.
