Sex discrimination “is alive and well in America’s schools,” and education reformers are doing little or nothing to combat it, said a report issued by the Project on Equal Education Rights of the National Organization for Women’s Legal Defense and Education Fund. “How schools treat women and girls is not even considered in evaluating the effectiveness of schools,” it said in a 36-page report called, “The Heart of Excellence: Equal Opportunities and Educational Reform.”
