Prime Minister Mohammed Khan Junejo said that Pakistan will continue its controversial nuclear program despite criticism from the United States. Junejo said he made Pakistan’s position clear in talks with President Reagan last week while both were attending a session of the U.N. General Assembly, the official APP news agency reported. Pakistan insists that it is not building a nuclear bomb, but the State Department says Islamabad has gone to the threshold of building nuclear weapons. By October, the Reagan Administration must certify to Congress that Pakistan does not have a nuclear device in order to continue U.S. aid.
