El Toro, With 17-Game Streak, Holds Top Spot

El Toro High School, with the second-longest current winning streak in the Southern Section, remained the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll.
The Chargers have won 17 games in a row. Muir, of Pasadena, has a 27-game winning streak. Sixth-ranked Bolsa Grande has the third-longest streak in the section (12).
El Dorado makes its debut in the poll at No. 8 following a 10-6 upset of Valencia, which knocked the Tigers out of the top 10.
In the featured game this week, fourth-ranked Mission Viejo hosts 10th-ranked Santa Ana at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a rematch of the 1985 Southern Conference title game.
