Next installment in the continuing saga of Valerie Harper vs. Lorimar-Telepictures: a hearing is scheduled for Friday morning in Los Angeles Superior Court on Harper’s motion for an injunction preventing Lorimar from using the title “Valerie’s Family” for the show that was formerly called “Valerie.” On Sept. 18--three days before the show’s season premiere--Harper sought and was denied a temporary restraining order preventing Lorimar from using the new title. Harper left the show after a contract dispute. Also pending: a $70-million breach-of-contract suit filed in July against Harper and her $180-million countersuit.
