Milton Rokeach; Communication Professor

Milton Rokeach, 69, professor of communication and psychology at USC and known for his writings and research into attitudes, values and belief systems. He was the author of six books, including the 1984 “The Great American Values Test,” and more than 100 articles. His 1964 “The Three Christs of Ypsilanti: A Psychological Study” was made into a screenplay and opera. Born in Poland, Rokeach earned his doctorate in psychology from UC Berkeley in 1947 and had been a professor since that year. In Los Angeles on Oct. 25 of cancer.
