Local News in Brief : 10-Year-Old Boy Riding His Bike Shot

A 10-year-old boy riding his bicycle was shot for no apparent reason and was seriously wounded in Southwest Los Angeles Friday by a man riding another bicycle, Lynwood sheriff’s deputies reported.
“This man, about 21, with an older model bike just goes riding by and shoots this boy,” Lt. Ray Gonzales said. “We haven’t been able to determine a gang connection or any other motive.”
The youngster was taken to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, authorities said.
