Lofton to Receive Player of Year Award

Brent Lofton of El Camino Real High will be honored as the City Section 3-A Division Player of the Year at the John Wooden Award ceremony Wednesday at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. The Wooden Award recognizes college basketball’s player of the year.
A $500 scholarship will be awarded to El Camino Real in Lofton’s name. The 6-5 forward is the school’s all-time leading scorer (1,009 points) and second-leading rebounder (556). He led El Camino Real to the semifinals of the 3-A playoffs and has signed to play at Utah State next season.
