Commercial Scene : 3M Breaks Ground on Distribution Center

3M has broken ground on its new West Coast distribution center in Vintage Industrial Park in Ontario. The 281,000-square-foot facility at the northwest corner of Wineville Avenue and Philadelphia Street is on 42 acres purchased from Union Pacific Realty Co. for $9 million.
Architects are Hill-Pinckert of Irvine. Birtcher Construction is general contractor for the $6.3-million project.
The distribution center will stock products from 23 3M divisions, including office supplies, dental materials and pharmaceuticals.
