Neighbor Injured While Helping 8 Escape Fire

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — A woman rushed into a neighbor’s burning house and, despite fracturing a bone in her foot, rescued two small children and led six people to safety, authorities said.
Two other children died in the fire Saturday night, which was blamed on a candle. Debra Craw, 24, was rushing out of the house carrying one child when she tripped on the front steps, fracturing a bone in her foot.
