Chinese Women Reach Table Tennis Finals

DORTMUND, West Germany — China’s women reached their ninth straight team final at the World Table Tennis Championships.
Led by Olympic champion Chen Jing and Li Huifen, the Chinese beat Sweden and Hong Kong by 3-0 scores on Sunday.
In men’s play, Sweden and North Korea won their quarterfinal matches. Sweden defeated West Germany 5-2, while North Korea downed Japan 5-1.
