All-Star High School Teams Play Tonight

The sixth annual Southern California All-Star high school basketball doubleheader, matching girls’ and boys’ teams from the City against those from the Southern Section, will be played tonight at Cal State Dominguez Hills, starting at 6:30.
The City boys’ team will be led by Terry Cannon of Crenshaw, the City 4-A Division player of the year, and Brent Lofton of Woodland Hills El Camino Real. Heading the Southern Section team will be three Division I first-team selections--Brian Camper of Lakewood, Malru Dottin of Santa Ana Saddleback and Corey Rogers of La Puente Nogales.
The City girls’ team will be led by Valerie Agee of Palisades, a two-time All-City selection, and Claudia Jones of Crenshaw, who led the Cougars to the City 4-A finals. Leading the Southern Section team will be Heidi and Heather Burge of Palos Verdes, two-time Southern Section selections; Joni Easterly of Anaheim Katella, and Kim Gessig of Upland.
