Re the tirade against rap by independent record producer Tom Werman, who has worked with Poison, Motley Crue and other metal bands (Letters, April 1):
Excuse me, Mr. Werman, but when Poison informs us that “. . . if I can’t have her, I’ll take her and make her” and Motley Crue gives us a travelogue of topless bars (“Girls, Girls, Girls,”), exactly what wholesome, mature behavior are they supporting?
If you can show me the “suburban reality” behind these musical nonentities, I will pound my Public Enemy albums into plowshares.
