Deposits Rise at Home Savings: Home Savings of America, the nation’s largest savings and loan institution, reported that deposits by individual consumers in March increased by a record $805 million--the largest one-month gain in the company’s history and nearly $300 million greater than the previous record of $538 million set in March, 1988. Chairman Richard H. Deihl said the thrift’s deposits are bucking the national trend of deposit outflow--growing by more than $1 billion in the past two months.
