Author Talk: Ann and Evan Maxwell, the husband and wife team who write the Fiddler mystery series under the pen name A.E. Maxwell, will appear at the “Whodunit” night sponsored by the Friends of the Santa Ana Public Library at 7 p.m. Monday. The event is being held to celebrate National Library Week. The Maxwells’ most recent book, “Just Enough Light to Kill,” is the fourth in their Orange County-based mystery-thriller series.
Sci-Fi: Jefferson Peters of the University of Michigan will discuss “Persuasive Science Fictional Worlds and the Rhetorics of Art and Science” at noon Thursday in the Babb Writing Center, Humanities Office Building, Room 126, UC Irvine. Peters is in California to participate in a conference on fantasy and science fiction at UC Riverside.
Children’s Literature: Three children’s authors--Adrienne Jones, Valerie Keyworth and Alice Schertle--will speak at noon Thursday at the Newport Beach Public Library, 856 San Clemente Drive. Children’s illustrators Marjory Davis and Neill Ketchum also will present a display of their works.
