A house fire here caused $250,000 damage Friday afternoon, fire officials said.
Fire Department Battalion Chief Bill Cooper said the blaze that started shortly before 2 p.m. was not related to the earthquake that jolted the area 46 minutes earlier.
There were no injuries, fire officials said.
Mary Uhetecht, 17, the only family member home at the time, said she heard an alarm in the house and found that a fire had started behind the washer and dryer in the garage, fire officials said.
The house is in the 8400 block of Millbridge Circle.
