Mira Mesa Dominates Swim Meet

Mira Mesa High School set eight meet records and won nine of 23 events at the Monarch Boys’ Swimming Invitational Saturday at Monte Vista High.
The Marauders scored 212 points. Monte Vista was second with 158, USDHS third with 150.
Mira Mesa set records in ironman events--two swimmers swimming twice for each relay--for the butterfly (1:45.24), backstroke (1:57.86) and breaststroke (2:05.79) at 200 yards. It also set 200 records for the medley relay (1:46.22), butterfly (1:48.20), backstroke (1:56.11), breaststroke (2:09.52) and freestyle (1:37.91).
Mira Mesa swimmers setting records were Paul Madeen, Mike Picotte, Jason Rubio, Owen Molenaar, Kevin Martin, Mike Kolarov, Sean Long, Roger Turpin, Ron Stott, Bill Livesay, Jeff Geary and Eddie Rohrback.
